Our Christmas Switch on events started in 2007 with a small event of 4 stalls inside the White Swan and a christmas tree lights switch on. Back then we had around 80 people attending. Our First Christmas Market, as it is now, took place in 2017, and was proposed by our Chair, Helen and organised with the help of our amazing volunteers. That first Christmas market had 18 stalls and over 300 visitors. Since then we have grown the event, which includes a family funday, over 25 stalls and Christmas tree lights switch on (When we are able), and attracts in excess of 500 visitors. Not bad to say all this is done by just 2 volunteers, and managed by around 9 volunteers on the actual day. The day includes a Funfair, Party Bus, Kevin the Klown, Walk about Characters, Festive Stalls, Santa on his Sleigh, a Brass Band, food trailers, and lots more. We fund our events by fundraising, sponsorship from local businesses and Ward Councillors Brighter Borough fund. We are extremely grateful for all the help and support we receive throughout the year.

Who Are Our Volunteers
We have just 3 main volunteers, who arrange the events and resolve the issues which arise, They are Helen and Dave Arrowsmith and Ruby Bennett. We also have volunteers who work at our Market events to ensure they run smoothly.
